The Thai Dubbing Script Translation and Voice Acting Market Continues to Grow Despite the Rise of AI, Experts Say “High-Level Human Skills” Remain in Demand

Thailand’s dubbing script translation and voice acting industry continues to show strong growth potential, driven by the expansion of global video streaming platforms and the increasing popularity of foreign content among Thai audiences. Although artificial intelligence (AI) is now playing a larger role in translation and voice generation, industry experts believe that human skills—particularly emotional expression and cultural understanding—remain essential to producing high-quality work.

Pichayapat Aromangputikul, Honorary Advisor to the Qualification Verification Committee, stated that one of the key factors driving demand in the market is the rapid growth of international streaming services, which require Thai-language localization to better reach local audiences. This demand spans films, television series, animation, and documentaries.

In addition, the continued presence of Thai dubbing services across mainstream media and subscription-based platforms has helped sustain strong demand for script translators and voice actors, especially for projects that prioritize linguistic quality and authenticity.

However, the industry is also undergoing significant changes as AI technologies are increasingly being used to assist with preliminary script translation and voice generation. These tools allow companies to speed up production processes and reduce operational costs, particularly for large-scale projects that require rapid release schedules.

Despite the efficiency AI can provide, Pichayapat believes the technology still cannot fully replace highly skilled professionals, especially in areas such as refining dialogue for natural flow, adapting language to cultural context, and delivering emotionally nuanced voice performances. These remain areas where human expertise clearly surpasses AI capabilities.

“The market still needs people who can elevate the quality of work beyond standard production levels. Organizations that focus on quality continue to value linguistic sensitivity and emotional depth, which AI still cannot replicate perfectly,” Pichayapat said.

He also emphasized that professionals working in translation and voice acting must continue developing their skills in areas such as language proficiency, script interpretation, emotional communication, and the ability to work alongside AI technologies in order to remain competitive.

Looking ahead, the industry is expected to continue expanding, but professionals will need to adapt to ongoing technological changes. Specialists with unique expertise and the ability to create high-quality work are expected to remain highly sought after in the future.

ตลาดงานแปลบทพากย์–พากย์เสียงไทยยังเติบโต แม้ AI รุกหนัก ผู้เชี่ยวชาญชี้ “ทักษะคุณภาพสูง” ยังเป็นที่ต้องการ

9 พฤษภาคม 2569, Bangkok อุตสาหกรรมงานแปลบทพากย์และการพากย์เสียงในประเทศไทยยังคงมีแนวโน้มเติบโตอย่างต่อเนื่อง จากการขยายตัวของแพลตฟอร์มวิดีโอสตรีมมิ่งและความนิยมในการบริโภคคอนเทนต์ต่างประเทศของผู้ชมไทย แม้ปัจจุบันเทคโนโลยีปัญญาประดิษฐ์หรือ AI จะเริ่มเข้ามามีบทบาทในการแปลและพากย์เสียงมากขึ้น แต่ผู้เชี่ยวชาญมองว่า “ทักษะของมนุษย์” โดยเฉพาะด้านการสื่ออารมณ์และความเข้าใจเชิงวัฒนธรรม ยังคงเป็นหัวใจสำคัญของงานคุณภาพ

คุณพิชญาพัทธ์ อรมังพุฒิกุล ที่ปรึกษากิตติมศักดิ์คณะกรรมการตรวจสอบคุณสมบัติ เปิดเผยว่า ปัจจัยสำคัญที่ผลักดันความต้องการในตลาดมาจากการเติบโตของแพลตฟอร์มสตรีมมิ่งระดับโลก ซึ่งต้องการปรับเนื้อหาให้เป็นภาษาไทยเพื่อเข้าถึงผู้ชมได้กว้างขึ้น ทั้งในรูปแบบภาพยนตร์ ซีรีส์ อนิเมชัน และสารคดี

นอกจากนี้ ยังมีแรงสนับสนุนจากบริการเสียงพากย์ภาษาไทยในสื่อหลักและแพลตฟอร์มแบบบอกรับสมาชิกที่มีอยู่เดิม ส่งผลให้ความต้องการบุคลากรด้านการแปลบทและพากย์เสียงยังคงอยู่ในระดับสูง โดยเฉพาะงานที่เน้นคุณภาพและความสมจริงของภาษา

อย่างไรก็ตาม อุตสาหกรรมกำลังเผชิญความเปลี่ยนแปลงจากการนำ AI เข้ามาช่วยแปลบทและสร้างเสียงพากย์เบื้องต้น เพื่อเพิ่มความรวดเร็วในการผลิตและลดต้นทุนการดำเนินงาน โดยเฉพาะงานปริมาณมากที่ต้องการเผยแพร่ในระยะเวลาอันสั้น

แม้ AI จะช่วยเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการผลิตได้อย่างมาก แต่คุณพิชญาพัทธ์มองว่า เทคโนโลยียังไม่สามารถทดแทนบุคลากรที่มีทักษะระดับสูงได้ทั้งหมด โดยเฉพาะด้านการเกลาบทให้สละสลวย การเลือกใช้ภาษาให้เหมาะสมกับบริบททางวัฒนธรรม และการพากย์เสียงที่ต้องถ่ายทอดอารมณ์ซับซ้อนของตัวละคร ซึ่งยังเป็นจุดที่มนุษย์ทำได้ดีกว่า AI อย่างชัดเจน

“ตลาดยังต้องการคนที่สามารถยกระดับคุณภาพงานให้เหนือกว่างานทั่วไป เพราะองค์กรที่เน้นคุณภาพยังให้ความสำคัญกับงานที่มีความละเอียดอ่อนด้านภาษาและอารมณ์ ซึ่ง AI ยังทำได้ไม่สมบูรณ์” คุณพิชญาพัทธ์กล่าว

ทั้งนี้ มองว่า ผู้ที่ทำงานในสายอาชีพด้านการแปลและพากย์เสียงจำเป็นต้องเร่งพัฒนาทักษะของตนเองให้โดดเด่น ทั้งด้านภาษา การตีความบท การสื่อสารอารมณ์ รวมถึงการเรียนรู้การทำงานร่วมกับเทคโนโลยี AI เพื่อเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขัน

ภาพรวมของอุตสาหกรรมในระยะต่อจากนี้จึงยังมีโอกาสเติบโตอย่างต่อเนื่อง แต่บุคลากรในสายงานต้องปรับตัวให้ทันกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงของเทคโนโลยี โดยผู้ที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญเฉพาะทางและสามารถสร้างผลงานคุณภาพสูงได้ จะยังคงเป็นที่ต้องการของตลาดในอนาคต
