SEAProTI President Delivers CPD Lecture on Welfare of Certified Translators and Interpreters in Bangkok

Bangkok, April 17, 2026 — Wanitcha Sumanat, President of the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI), delivered a keynote lecture on the topic of “Welfare and Well-being of Certified Translators and Interpreters” as part of the association’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program.

The session, attended by invited language professionals from across the field, focused on the growing importance of welfare systems in strengthening professional standards and ensuring sustainable career development within the translation and interpreting industry in Southeast Asia.

During the lecture, Wanitcha emphasized that welfare and well-being are no longer peripheral concerns but fundamental pillars of a robust professional ecosystem. She highlighted that Certified Translators, Translation Certification Providers, and Certified Interpreters require structured support mechanisms, including fair compensation frameworks, legal protection, and access to continuous training.

“Professional recognition must go hand in hand with professional protection,” she noted, stressing that without adequate welfare, even highly skilled practitioners may face instability and ethical pressures in the marketplace.

The lecture also addressed how certification, when combined with strong welfare policies, enhances credibility and opens access to high-level assignments in legal, governmental, and international sectors. Participants were encouraged to view certification not only as a qualification but as part of a broader system of accountability and trust.

In addition, Wanitcha underscored the role of CPD programs in maintaining professional competence, particularly in an era of rapid technological change and increasing demand for specialized language services.

The event forms part of SEAProTI’s ongoing efforts to build a cohesive professional network and elevate standards across Southeast Asia. By fostering dialogue among practitioners and promoting best practices, the association aims to reinforce trust in translation and interpreting services across both public and private sectors.

The CPD session concluded with an interactive discussion, where participants exchanged perspectives on challenges facing the profession and explored ways to strengthen welfare frameworks for language professionals in the region.

กรุงเทพมหานคร, 17 เมษายน 2569 — คุณวณิชชา สุมานัส นายกสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ได้บรรยายพิเศษในหัวข้อ “สวัสดิภาพและสวัสดิการของนักแปลและล่ามรับรอง” ภายใต้โครงการพัฒนาวิชาชีพต่อเนื่อง (Continuing Professional Development: CPD) ของสมาคม

การบรรยายครั้งนี้มีผู้เข้าร่วมเป็นนักแปลและล่ามมืออาชีพที่ได้รับเชิญจากหลากหลายสาขา โดยเนื้อหามุ่งเน้นถึงความสำคัญของระบบสวัสดิภาพในการยกระดับมาตรฐานวิชาชีพ และสร้างความยั่งยืนให้กับอาชีพด้านการแปลและล่ามในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้

คุณวณิชชาได้เน้นย้ำว่า สวัสดิภาพและสวัสดิการไม่ใช่เพียงประเด็นรอง แต่เป็น “รากฐานสำคัญ” ของระบบวิชาชีพที่เข้มแข็ง โดยเฉพาะสำหรับนักแปลรับรอง ผู้ให้บริการรับรองการแปล และล่ามรับรอง ซึ่งจำเป็นต้องได้รับการสนับสนุนทั้งในด้านค่าตอบแทนที่เป็นธรรม การคุ้มครองทางกฎหมาย และโอกาสในการพัฒนาทักษะอย่างต่อเนื่อง

“การยอมรับในวิชาชีพต้องมาพร้อมกับการคุ้มครองในวิชาชีพ” คุณวณิชชากล่าว พร้อมชี้ให้เห็นว่า หากขาดระบบสวัสดิภาพที่เหมาะสม ผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพอาจเผชิญกับความไม่มั่นคง และแรงกดดันด้านจริยธรรมในการทำงาน

นอกจากนี้ การบรรยายยังได้กล่าวถึงบทบาทของการรับรองวิชาชีพที่ช่วยเพิ่มความน่าเชื่อถือ และเปิดโอกาสให้ผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพเข้าถึงงานในระดับสูง เช่น งานด้านกฎหมาย ภาครัฐ และองค์กรระหว่างประเทศ ซึ่งต้องการความถูกต้องและความรับผิดชอบในระดับสูง

ในส่วนของการพัฒนาวิชาชีพอย่างต่อเนื่อง (CPD) คุณวณิชชาได้เน้นถึงความจำเป็นในการปรับตัวต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงของเทคโนโลยีและความต้องการของตลาด โดยสมาคมยังคงสนับสนุนการจัดอบรมและกิจกรรมพัฒนาทักษะอย่างต่อเนื่อง

กิจกรรมครั้งนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของความพยายามของ SEAProTI ในการสร้างเครือข่ายวิชาชีพที่เข้มแข็ง และยกระดับมาตรฐานการแปลและล่ามในภูมิภาค ผ่านการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือและการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ระหว่างผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพ

การบรรยายปิดท้ายด้วยช่วงแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็น ซึ่งผู้เข้าร่วมได้ร่วมกันสะท้อนถึงความท้าทายของวิชาชีพ และเสนอแนวทางในการพัฒนาระบบสวัสดิภาพให้มีประสิทธิภาพยิ่งขึ้น

สำนักคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาเสนอให้ตราเป็นพระราชกฤษฎีกา โดยกำหนดให้นักแปลที่ขึ้นทะเบียน รวมถึงผู้รับรองการแปลจากสมาคมวิชาชีพหรือสถาบันสอนภาษาที่มีการอบรมและขึ้นทะเบียน สามารถรับรองคำแปลได้ (จดหมายถึงสมาคม SEAProTI ลงวันที่ 28 เม.ย. 2568)
