“Madam Beer” Drives Phuket Toward Becoming a Hub for Language Professionals,
Elevating Translators and Interpreters to International Standards
8 May 2026, Phuket – The SEAProTI Phuket Coordination Center is moving forward with its mission to position Phuket as one of Thailand’s emerging hubs for language professionals. “Madam Beer,” or Ms. Pattawan Purechatang, Director of the Phuket and Southern Region Coordination Center of the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI), a key driving force behind the professional network for translators and interpreters, recognizes Phuket’s strong potential as an international economic and tourism city with a continuously growing demand for language experts across business, healthcare, legal services, hospitality, and international conferences.
The expansion of SEAProTI Phuket’s role aims to create a platform for learning, professional development, and the advancement of translation and interpreting standards in Southern Thailand. The initiative seeks to empower professionals to compete and work at an international level by fostering collaboration among practitioners, educational institutions, businesses, and government agencies to strengthen language capabilities that meet the demands of the modern economy.
Phuket is uniquely positioned in many aspects, including its infrastructure, international connectivity, and status as a global tourism destination. These factors have led to increasing demand for professional translators and interpreters in multiple languages, including English, Chinese, Russian, Arabic, and ASEAN languages. In an era where the global economy is driven by communication and cross-cultural understanding, language professionals play a critical role in building trust and ensuring high standards of service.
SEAProTI Phuket also focuses on promoting internationally recognized professional standards through training programs, knowledge exchange, and continuous skills development opportunities. About certified translators, translation certifiers, and certified interpreters associated with SEAProTI. The Council of State has proposed the enactment of a Royal Decree, granting registered translators and recognised translation certifiers from professional associations or accredited language institutions the authority to provide legally valid translation certification (Letter to SEAProTI dated April 28, 2025)
SEAProTI is the first professional association in Thailand and Southeast Asia to implement a comprehensive certification system for translators, certifiers, and interpreters.

8 พฤษภาคม 2569, ภูเก็ต – ศูนย์ประสานงาน SEAProTI ภูเก็ต เดินหน้าผลักดันภูเก็ตสู่ศูนย์กลางผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านภาษาแห่งใหม่ของประเทศไทย โดย “มาดามเบียร์” หรือ คุณพัทธวรรณ ปุเรชะตัง ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์ประสานงานสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) จังหวัดภูเก็ตและภาคใต้ ผู้ผลักดันสำคัญของเครือข่ายวิชาชีพด้านการแปลและล่าม มองเห็นศักยภาพของจังหวัดภูเก็ตในฐานะเมืองเศรษฐกิจและการท่องเที่ยวระดับนานาชาติที่มีความต้องการบุคลากรด้านภาษาเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง ทั้งในภาคธุรกิจ การแพทย์ กฎหมาย การบริการ และการประชุมระดับนานาชาติ

ภูเก็ตถือเป็นจังหวัดที่มีความพร้อมในหลายมิติ ทั้งด้านโครงสร้างพื้นฐาน การเชื่อมต่อกับนานาชาติ และการเป็นศูนย์กลางการท่องเที่ยวระดับโลก ส่งผลให้เกิดความต้องการนักแปลและล่ามมืออาชีพในหลากหลายภาษา ไม่ว่าจะเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ จีน รัสเซีย อาหรับ หรือภาษาในภูมิภาคอาเซียน โดยเฉพาะในยุคที่เศรษฐกิจโลกขับเคลื่อนด้วยการสื่อสารและความเข้าใจข้ามวัฒนธรรม บุคลากรด้านภาษาจึงมีบทบาทสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อการสร้างความเชื่อมั่นและมาตรฐานการบริการ
ศูนย์ประสานงาน SEAProTI ภูเก็ต ยังมุ่งส่งเสริมการพัฒนามาตรฐานวิชาชีพตามแนวทางสากล ผ่านการอบรม การแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ และการสร้างโอกาสในการพัฒนาทักษะอย่างต่อเนื่อง เพื่อให้ผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพสามารถปรับตัวต่อเทคโนโลยีและความเปลี่ยนแปลงของตลาดแรงงานในอนาคตได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
แนวทางดังกล่าวไม่เพียงช่วยยกระดับคุณภาพของนักแปลและล่ามในภาคใต้เท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นส่วนสำคัญในการเสริมสร้างภาพลักษณ์ของภูเก็ตในฐานะเมืองนานาชาติที่มีระบบสนับสนุนด้านภาษาและการสื่อสารอย่างมืออาชีพ ซึ่งจะส่งผลดีต่อทั้งภาคเศรษฐกิจ การท่องเที่ยว การลงทุน และการจัดกิจกรรมระดับนานาชาติในระยะยาว
การผลักดันให้ภูเก็ตเป็นแหล่งรวมผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านภาษา จึงไม่ใช่เพียงการพัฒนาวิชาชีพเฉพาะทาง แต่เป็นการวางรากฐานสำคัญให้จังหวัดสามารถเติบโตอย่างยั่งยืนในโลกที่การสื่อสารข้ามพรมแดนกลายเป็นหัวใจของการพัฒนาในทุกมิติ

สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ได้ประกาศหลักเกณฑ์และคุณสมบัติของผู้ที่ขึ้นทะเบียนเป็น “นักแปลรับรอง (Certified Translators) และผู้รับรองการแปล (Translation Certification Providers) และล่ามรับรอง (Certified Interpreters)” ของสมาคม หมวดที่ 9 และหมวดที่ 10 ในราชกิจจานุเบกษา ของสำนักเลขาธิการคณะรัฐมนตรี ในสำนักนายกรัฐมนตรี แห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย ลงวันที่ 25 ก.ค. 2567 เล่มที่ 141 ตอนที่ 66 ง หน้า 100 อ่านฉบับเต็มได้ที่: นักแปลรับรอง ผู้รับรองการแปล และล่ามรับรอง
สำนักคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาเสนอให้ตราเป็นพระราชกฤษฎีกา โดยกำหนดให้นักแปลที่ขึ้นทะเบียน รวมถึงผู้รับรองการแปลจากสมาคมวิชาชีพหรือสถาบันสอนภาษาที่มีการอบรมและขึ้นทะเบียน สามารถรับรองคำแปลได้ (จดหมายถึงสมาคม SEAProTI ลงวันที่ 28 เม.ย. 2568)
