Bangkok, May 30, 2026 – The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) is set to organize the 5th SEAProTI International Translators and Interpreters Summit 2026, a hybrid conference that will bring together language professionals, translators, interpreters, academics, and industry practitioners from Thailand and around the world. The event aims to foster knowledge exchange and explore the latest trends shaping the language profession amid rapid technological advancements.
One of the key highlights of this year’s summit is a special lecture entitled “Strengthening the Translation and Interpreting Industry in the Middle East: The Role of WITA,” scheduled for Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM (Thailand Time). The session will be delivered by Dr. Heba Ezz Eddin, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Women in Translation Association (WITA) and a professional translator and interpreter serving the United Nations (UN). Dr. Ezz Eddin will join the conference live online from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and will present in English.
The lecture will explore the future of artificial intelligence in translation through the case study of TransWhisper, highlighting both the opportunities and limitations of AI-powered translation systems. Participants will gain valuable insights into the evolving role of translators and interpreters in an era increasingly influenced by AI, as well as practical perspectives on the ethical and effective integration of technology into language services.
Dr. Heba Ezz Eddin is an internationally recognized expert in translation, interpreting, and professional development for language practitioners. Through her leadership at WITA and collaborations with various international organizations, she has played a significant role in promoting global networks of language professionals and advancing the translation profession worldwide.

กรุงเทพมหานคร, 30 พฤษภาคม 2569 – สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) เตรียมจัดงาน The 5th SEAProTI International Translators and Interpreters Summit 2026 ในรูปแบบ Hybrid Conference โดยรวบรวมผู้เชี่ยวชาญ นักแปล ล่าม นักวิชาการ และผู้ปฏิบัติงานด้านภาษา จากประเทศไทยและนานาชาติ เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้และติดตามแนวโน้มล่าสุดของวิชาชีพท่ามกลางการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางเทคโนโลยีอย่างรวดเร็ว
หนึ่งในไฮไลต์สำคัญของการประชุมครั้งนี้ คือการบรรยายพิเศษในหัวข้อ ““Strengthening the Translation and Interpreting Industry in the Middle East: The Role of WITA“” ซึ่งจะจัดขึ้นในวันเสาร์ที่ 30 พฤษภาคม 2569 เวลา 16.00 – 17.00 น. โดยได้รับเกียรติจาก Dr. Heba Ezz Eddin ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร (CEO) ของ Women in Translation Association (WITA) และนักแปล–ล่ามผู้ปฏิบัติงานให้แก่องค์การสหประชาชาติ (United Nations) เข้าร่วมบรรยายสดจาก สหรัฐอาหรับเอมิเรตส์ (United Arab Emirates) ผ่านระบบออนไลน์ภาษาอังกฤษ
การบรรยายครั้งนี้จะนำเสนอวิสัยทัศน์เกี่ยวกับอนาคตของเทคโนโลยีปัญญาประดิษฐ์ในงานแปลภาษา โดยใช้ TransWhisper เป็นกรณีศึกษา เพื่อสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงศักยภาพ ข้อจำกัด และทิศทางการพัฒนาของระบบ AI Translation ในยุคที่การสื่อสารข้ามภาษาและวัฒนธรรมมีความสำคัญมากยิ่งขึ้น ผู้เข้าร่วมจะได้รับมุมมองเชิงลึกเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของนักแปลและล่ามในอนาคต ตลอดจนแนวทางการประยุกต์ใช้เทคโนโลยีอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพและมีจริยธรรม

สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ได้ประกาศหลักเกณฑ์และคุณสมบัติของผู้ที่ขึ้นทะเบียนเป็น “นักแปลรับรอง (Certified Translators) และผู้รับรองการแปล (Translation Certification Providers) และล่ามรับรอง (Certified Interpreters)” ของสมาคม หมวดที่ 9 และหมวดที่ 10 ในราชกิจจานุเบกษา ของสำนักเลขาธิการคณะรัฐมนตรี ในสำนักนายกรัฐมนตรี แห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย ลงวันที่ 25 ก.ค. 2567 เล่มที่ 141 ตอนที่ 66 ง หน้า 100 อ่านฉบับเต็มได้ที่: นักแปลรับรอง ผู้รับรองการแปล และล่ามรับรอง
สำนักคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาเสนอให้ตราเป็นพระราชกฤษฎีกา โดยกำหนดให้นักแปลที่ขึ้นทะเบียน รวมถึงผู้รับรองการแปลจากสมาคมวิชาชีพหรือสถาบันสอนภาษาที่มีการอบรมและขึ้นทะเบียน สามารถรับรองคำแปลได้ (จดหมายถึงสมาคม SEAProTI ลงวันที่ 28 เม.ย. 2568)
