The 5th SEAProTI International Translators and Interpreters Summit 2026 Opens a Global Platform for Knowledge Exchange in Bangkok

Bangkok, 31 May 2026 – The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) successfully hosted the 5th SEAProTI International Translators and Interpreters Summit 2026 at The Palazzo Hotel Bangkok, conveniently located near MRT Huai Khwang Station in Bangkok, Thailand. The summit brought together translators, interpreters, language professionals, academics, and industry experts from various countries to exchange knowledge, discuss emerging professional trends, and strengthen regional and international cooperation in the fields of translation and interpreting.

The opening ceremony was honoured by the presence of Pairat Saengseedam, honorary member and advisor to the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters, as well as honorary advisor to the Committee on Public Administration of the Thai Parliament. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the growing importance of the translation and interpreting professions in an increasingly globalised world, where cross-cultural and multilingual communication plays a vital role in economic development, education, legal affairs, and international relations.

Throughout the summit, participants attended keynote presentations, panel discussions, and research presentations delivered by distinguished experts from Thailand and abroad. Key topics included the impact of artificial intelligence on translation and interpreting, international professional standards, ethics in language services, capacity building for translators and interpreters in the digital era, and strategies for fostering collaboration among professional organisations across Southeast Asia.

The event was smoothly moderated by Wanitcha Sumanat, president of the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters, arbitrator, mediator, and professional forensic linguist. She played a leading role in shaping the summit as a platform for professional learning, networking, and the advancement of translation and interpreting standards throughout the region.

During the closing ceremony, Preecha Wipawasut, vice president of the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters, arbitrator, mediator, and associate judge, delivered the closing remarks. He expressed appreciation to the speakers, participants, and partner organisations whose support contributed to the success of the event. He also underscored the importance of continuous professional development to meet the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing world.

The 5th SEAProTI International Translators and Interpreters Summit marks another significant milestone in strengthening international cooperation among language professionals and highlights Thailand’s growing role as a regional hub for knowledge exchange in translation and interpreting within Southeast Asia.

กรุงเทพมหานคร, 31 พฤษภาคม 2569 – สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) จัดงาน “The 5th SEAProTI International Translators and Interpreters Summit 2026” หรือ “การประชุมผู้นำนักแปลและล่ามนานาชาติ SEAProTI ครั้งที่ 5 ประจำปี 2569” ณ โรงแรมเดอะ พาลาสโซ กรุงเทพฯ ใกล้สถานีรถไฟฟ้า MRT ห้วยขวาง กรุงเทพมหานคร ประเทศไทย โดยมีนักแปล ล่าม ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านภาษา นักวิชาการ และผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพจากหลากหลายประเทศเข้าร่วม เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ แนวโน้มวิชาชีพ และความร่วมมือด้านการแปลและการล่ามในระดับภูมิภาคและนานาชาติ

พิธีเปิดการประชุมได้รับเกียรติจาก ท่านไพรัตน์ แสงสีดำ สมาชิกกิตติมศักดิ์และที่ปรึกษาของสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ รวมทั้งที่ปรึกษากิตติมศักดิ์ คณะกรรมาธิการการบริหารราชการแผ่นดิน รัฐสภาไทย กล่าวเปิดงาน โดยเน้นย้ำถึงความสำคัญของวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามในยุคโลกาภิวัตน์ ซึ่งการสื่อสารข้ามภาษาและวัฒนธรรมมีบทบาทสำคัญต่อการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจ การศึกษา กฎหมาย และความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ

ตลอดการประชุม ผู้เข้าร่วมได้รับฟังการบรรยาย การเสวนา และการนำเสนอผลงานจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิทั้งในและต่างประเทศ ครอบคลุมประเด็นสำคัญ อาทิ เทคโนโลยีปัญญาประดิษฐ์กับวิชาชีพการแปลและการล่าม มาตรฐานวิชาชีพสากล จริยธรรมในการปฏิบัติงาน การพัฒนาศักยภาพนักแปลและล่ามยุคดิจิทัล ตลอดจนแนวทางส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างองค์กรวิชาชีพในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้

การดำเนินรายการตลอดงานเป็นไปอย่างราบรื่นโดย คุณวณิชชา สุมานัส นายกสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ อนุญาโตตุลาการ ผู้ไกล่เกลี่ย และนักนิติภาษาศาสตร์วิชาชีพ ซึ่งได้ร่วมผลักดันให้เวทีดังกล่าวเป็นพื้นที่แห่งการเรียนรู้ การสร้างเครือข่ายวิชาชีพ และการยกระดับมาตรฐานงานแปลและล่ามในภูมิภาค

ในช่วงพิธีปิด ท่านปรีชา วิภวศุทธิ์ อุปนายกสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ อนุญาโตตุลาการ ผู้ไกล่เกลี่ย และผู้พิพากษาสมทบ ได้กล่าวปิดการประชุม พร้อมแสดงความขอบคุณต่อวิทยากร ผู้เข้าร่วมงาน และองค์กรพันธมิตรที่ร่วมสนับสนุนการจัดงานให้ประสบความสำเร็จ พร้อมทั้งเน้นย้ำถึงความสำคัญของการพัฒนาวิชาชีพอย่างต่อเนื่องเพื่อรองรับความเปลี่ยนแปลงของโลกยุคใหม่

การประชุมผู้นำนักแปลและล่ามนานาชาติ SEAProTI ครั้งที่ 5 ถือเป็นอีกหนึ่งก้าวสำคัญของการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือระหว่างผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพด้านภาษาในระดับนานาชาติ และสะท้อนบทบาทของประเทศไทยในฐานะศูนย์กลางการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ด้านการแปลและการล่ามของภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้

สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ได้ประกาศหลักเกณฑ์และคุณสมบัติของผู้ที่ขึ้นทะเบียนเป็น “นักแปลรับรอง (Certified Translators) และผู้รับรองการแปล (Translation Certification Providers) และล่ามรับรอง (Certified Interpreters)” ของสมาคม หมวดที่ 9 และหมวดที่ 10 ในราชกิจจานุเบกษา ของสำนักเลขาธิการคณะรัฐมนตรี ในสำนักนายกรัฐมนตรี แห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย ลงวันที่ 25 ก.ค. 2567 เล่มที่ 141 ตอนที่ 66 ง หน้า 100 อ่านฉบับเต็มได้ที่: นักแปลรับรอง ผู้รับรองการแปล และล่ามรับรอง
สำนักคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาเสนอให้ตราเป็นพระราชกฤษฎีกา โดยกำหนดให้นักแปลที่ขึ้นทะเบียน รวมถึงผู้รับรองการแปลจากสมาคมวิชาชีพหรือสถาบันสอนภาษาที่มีการอบรมและขึ้นทะเบียน สามารถรับรองคำแปลได้ (จดหมายถึงสมาคม SEAProTI ลงวันที่ 28 เม.ย. 2568)
