Section 9 of Articles of Association regarding SEAProTI-Certified Practitioners

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) amended its Articles of Association to include the subsequent information in Section 9: "Duties of Certified Translators, Translation Certification Providers, and Certified Interpreters on Behalf of the Association” with the following specifications:

Certified Translator, Translation Certification Provider, and Certified Interpreter

46: Certified Translator, Translation Certification Provider, and Certified Interpreter

46.1 There are 3 levels of certified translators: certified translator level 1 (ปว.1 in Thai), certified translator level 2 (ปว.2 in Thai), and certified translator level 3 (ปว.3 in Thai), as follows:

To fulfill the responsibilities of a translator on behalf of the association, career translators with Level 1 Certification (C1) are required to fulfill the following requirements: completion of a translation training program that has received association accreditation and possession of all prerequisites for membership, including a translator's professional card, a license to work as a translator on behalf of the association, and a translator's seal.
Certified Professional Translators at Level Two (C2) must complete an association-accredited translation training course, pass the exam with results that meet the association's criteria, and possess all the qualifications necessary to become a member of the association and to carry out translation duties on its behalf. A valid license to practice translation on behalf of the association, a translator's professional certificate, and a translator's seal are required.
Certified Professional Translators at the Level Three Level (C3) must complete an association-accredited translation training course, pass the exam, achieve exam results by the association's criteria, and meet all other requirements for membership and when acting as a translator on behalf of the association. A valid license to practice translation on behalf of the association, a translator's professional certificate, and a translator's seal are required.

Additionally, the association does not support translation courses provided by outside organizations or people who are not members.

46.2 Certified Interpreter, abbreviated as Certified Interpreter Level 1 (ลว.1), Certified Interpreter Level 2 (ลว.2), and Certified Interpreter Level 3 (ลว.3), are the three tiers of certification.

Practitioners must meet several requirements to earn the Certified Career Interpreter at the Level One Level (C1) designation, including completing an association-accredited interpreter training course, meeting all membership requirements, and performing interpreting duties on behalf of the association. To provide translation services on behalf of the association, the practitioners must possess a valid license and a certificate as a certified interpreter.
Professional interpreters with Level-2 Certification (C2) are required to fulfill the following requirements: fulfillment of an association-accredited interpreter training course, successful completion of the exam, attainment of exam results that meet the association's criteria, and possession of all the necessary qualifications to become a member of the organization. Additionally, practitioners performing interpreting duties on behalf of the association must possess a valid license to practice interpreting and a professional interpreter credential.
Professional interpreters with Level-3 Certification (C3) are required to fulfill the following requirements: complete an association-accredited interpreter training course, pass the examination, achieve exam results that meet the association's criteria, and possess all other membership requirements. Practitioners must possess a professional interpreter certificate and a license to practice interpreting on behalf of the association to carry out interpreting duties on its behalf.

Additionally, it is important to note that the association does not endorse any interpreting courses provided by outside organizations or people.

46.3 A certified Translation Certification Provider (TCP) is an individual or organization as a member of the association that issues certifications for translations based on the association's specified knowledge and capability.

46.3 ผู้รับรองการแปล หรือภาษาอังกฤษใช้ว่า Translation Certification Provider คือผู้รับรองการแปลในภาษาที่ผู้รับรองมีความรู้ความสามารถในการรับรองตามที่สมาคมกำหนด
