SEAProTI Conducts Seminar on Translation and Interpreting for Eastern Region Entrepreneurs
On April 2, 2026, Wanitcha Sumanat, President of the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI), delivered a seminar on the topic “General Knowledge of Translation and Interpreting” to entrepreneurs in the Eastern region. Participants included representatives from factories and various companies located in industrial estates.
The seminar aimed to enhance understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and importance of translators and interpreters in the business and industrial sectors, particularly in the context of cross-language and cross-cultural communication, which is essential for international business operations. In addition, it emphasized the importance of engaging certified and qualified translators and interpreters to ensure accuracy, reliability, and to reduce risks arising from miscommunication.
During the session, participants were also introduced to professional standards, best practices, and the roles of certified translators, translation certifiers, and certified interpreters under the supervision of SEAProTI, a professional organization dedicated to promoting quality and standards in translation and interpreting across the region.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially shared the qualifications and requirements for becoming Certified Translators, Translation Certification Providers, and Certified Interpreters in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Gazette, which was published by the Prime Minister’s Office in Thailand on July 25, 2024. The Council of State has proposed the enactment of a Royal Decree, granting registered translators and recognised translation certifiers from professional associations or accredited language institutions the authority to provide legally valid translation certification (Letter to SEAProTI dated April 28, 2025)
SEAProTI is the first professional association in Thailand and Southeast Asia to implement a comprehensive certification system for translators, certifiers, and interpreters.

SEAProTI จัดบรรยายเสริมความรู้ด้านการแปลและการล่ามแก่ผู้ประกอบการภาคตะวันออก
เมื่อวันที่ 2 เมษายน 2569 คุณวณิชชา สุมานัส นายกสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ได้ให้เกียรติเป็นวิทยากรบรรยายในหัวข้อ “ความรู้ทั่วไปเกี่ยวกับการแปลและการล่าม” แก่ผู้ประกอบการในพื้นที่ภาคตะวันออก โดยมีผู้เข้าร่วมเป็นตัวแทนจากโรงงานอุตสาหกรรมและบริษัทต่าง ๆ ภายในนิคมอุตสาหกรรมจำนวนมาก
การบรรยายครั้งนี้จัดขึ้นเพื่อเสริมสร้างความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับบทบาท หน้าที่ และความสำคัญของนักแปลและล่ามในภาคธุรกิจและอุตสาหกรรม โดยเฉพาะในบริบทของการสื่อสารข้ามภาษาและวัฒนธรรมที่มีความสำคัญต่อการดำเนินธุรกิจระหว่างประเทศ นอกจากนี้ ยังมุ่งเน้นให้ผู้ประกอบการตระหนักถึงความจำเป็นในการใช้บริการนักแปลและล่ามที่มีมาตรฐานและได้รับการรับรอง เพื่อให้เกิดความถูกต้อง น่าเชื่อถือ และลดความเสี่ยงจากความคลาดเคลื่อนในการสื่อสาร
ภายในกิจกรรม ผู้เข้าร่วมยังได้รับข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับมาตรฐานวิชาชีพ แนวปฏิบัติที่ถูกต้อง ตลอดจนบทบาทของนักแปลรับรอง ผู้รับรองการแปล และล่ามรับรองภายใต้การกำกับดูแลของ SEAProTI ซึ่งเป็นองค์กรวิชาชีพที่มุ่งส่งเสริมคุณภาพและมาตรฐานของงานแปลและการล่ามในระดับภูมิภาค

สำนักคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาเสนอให้ตราเป็นพระราชกฤษฎีกา โดยกำหนดให้นักแปลที่ขึ้นทะเบียน รวมถึงผู้รับรองการแปลจากสมาคมวิชาชีพหรือสถาบันสอนภาษาที่มีการอบรมและขึ้นทะเบียน สามารถรับรองคำแปลได้ (จดหมายถึงสมาคม SEAProTI ลงวันที่ 28 เม.ย. 2568)
