23 February 2026, Bangkok—The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) would like to provide an update on the operations of Language Pair Group 3 so that members and relevant stakeholders share a clear understanding of our direction and work plan. This update also aims to ensure that the group’s implementation aligns with the same standards applied to the Thai–English language pair.

For the next phase of implementation, there are three key tasks to be prepared and carried forward:

• Conditional registration for members whose qualifications were “nearly complete” from the previous year, in accordance with the guidelines and resolutions recorded in the Extraordinary Meeting minutes dated 13 February 2026.
• Recruitment of a new Credential Committee, as the previous committee has been promoted to the main committee level, pursuant to the meeting minutes dated 9 January 2026.
• Coordination with members who were fully registered in 2025 to proceed with the issuance of official stamps, licenses, and other related documents in full.

SEAProTI will communicate further details on procedures and operational guidelines through internal channels in due course to ensure that coordination remains continuous, clear, and verifiable in line with the Association’s standards. 

This section provides information about certified translators, translation certifiers, and certified interpreters associated with SEAProTI.
The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially shared the qualifications and requirements for becoming Certified Translators, Translation Certification Providers, and Certified Interpreters in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Gazette, which was published by the Prime Minister’s Office in Thailand on July 25, 2024. Certified Translators, Translation Certification Providers, and Certified Interpreters
The Council of State has proposed the enactment of a Royal Decree, granting registered translators and recognised translation certifiers from professional associations or accredited language institutions the authority to provide legally valid translation certification (Letter to SEAProTI dated April 28, 2025)
SEAProTI is the first professional association in Thailand and Southeast Asia to implement a comprehensive certification system for translators, certifiers, and interpreters.
