SEAProTI President Serves as Interpreter in Capacity-Building Workshop
On Grant Proposal Writing for Mine Action in Lao PDR
October 2024, Bangkok – Khun Wanitcha Sumanat, President of the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI), had the honor of serving as an interpreter in a hands-on training workshop on “Project Proposal Writing for Donor-Funded Mine Action Management in Lao PDR.” The workshop was organized through collaboration with international agencies working in the fields of humanitarian safety and development.
Officials from the UXO (Unexploded Ordnance) Unit under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic attended the training, which aimed to strengthen participants’ capacity to develop competitive, well-structured proposals eligible for international funding.
Khun Wanitcha provided simultaneous Thai-English interpretation throughout the training sessions, ensuring smooth and accurate communication between trainers, international experts, and Lao participants. Her interpretation paid close attention to the technical accuracy of topics related to peacebuilding, humanitarian safety, and compliance with international documentation standards.
This mission highlights another key contribution by SEAProTI in promoting the role of professional language services in advancing human rights, security, and development across Southeast Asia.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially announced the criteria and qualifications for individuals to register as “Certified Translators,” “Translation Certification Providers,” and “Certified Interpreters” under the association’s regulations. These guidelines are detailed in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Thai Government Gazette, issued by the Secretariat of the Cabinet under the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, dated July 25, 2024, Volume 141, Part 66 Ng, Page 100.

นายกสมาคม SEAProTI ปฏิบัติหน้าที่ล่าม หนุนภารกิจฝึกอบรมการเขียนโครงการขอทุนจัดการทุ่นระเบิดใน สปป.ลาว
วันที่ ตุลาคม 2567, กรุงเทพมหานคร – คุณวณิชชา สุมานัส นายกสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ได้รับเกียรติให้ปฏิบัติหน้าที่ล่ามในการฝึกอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการหัวข้อ “การเขียนโครงการเพื่อขอทุนสนับสนุนจากผู้ให้ทุน สำหรับการบริหารจัดการการเก็บกู้ทุ่นระเบิดในประเทศลาว” ซึ่งจัดขึ้นโดยความร่วมมือของหน่วยงานระหว่างประเทศด้านการพัฒนาความปลอดภัยและมนุษยธรรม
การฝึกอบรมครั้งนี้มีเจ้าหน้าที่จาก หน่วยเก็บกู้อมพันธ์ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ แห่งสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว เข้าร่วม โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาทักษะการจัดทำข้อเสนอโครงการที่มีประสิทธิภาพ สามารถแข่งขันเพื่อขอรับการสนับสนุนจากแหล่งทุนระหว่างประเทศได้อย่างเป็นระบบ
คุณวณิชชา สุมานัส ได้ให้บริการล่ามสองภาษา (ไทย-อังกฤษ) ตลอดการอบรม เพื่อสนับสนุนการสื่อสารอย่างราบรื่นระหว่างผู้ฝึกอบรม ผู้แทนจากประเทศต่าง ๆ และผู้เข้าร่วมจากสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว โดยคำนึงถึงความถูกต้องของข้อมูลเฉพาะด้าน เช่น วาระสันติภาพ ความปลอดภัยทางมนุษยธรรม และการจัดทำเอกสารตามมาตรฐานสากล
ภารกิจครั้งนี้ถือเป็นอีกหนึ่งบทบาทสำคัญของสมาคม SEAProTI ในการส่งเสริมการใช้ภาษามืออาชีพเพื่อสนับสนุนประเด็นด้านสิทธิมนุษยชน ความมั่นคง และการพัฒนาในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้
