SEAProTI President Attends ICC Arbitration Day Indonesia 2025
29 October 2025, Jakarta, Indonesia — The ICC Arbitration Day 2025, hosted by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Dispute Resolution Services, brought together leading legal and arbitration professionals from across Southeast Asia to exchange insights on the current developments and future direction of arbitration law in Indonesia.
Khun Wanitcha Sumanas, President of the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI), attended the event as Thailand’s representative. The conference featured a Welcome and Opening Address by Tejus Chauhan, Director, Arbitration and ADR, South Asia, ICC Dispute Resolution Services (Singapore), followed by a Special Address by Dr. Andre Abraham, Head of Legal Bureau, Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry of Indonesia/BKPM.

- Balancing the Scales: Things in Check for Damages Claims in Arbitration
- High Stakes and Complex Disputes Require Multi-tiered Dispute Resolution Mechanism (Rapid Fire Debate)
The panels featured distinguished experts from Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia, discussing how Indonesia’s Arbitration Law (Law No. 30 of 1999) could be reformed to align with international standards and best practices.
Khun Wanitcha noted that this event provided a valuable opportunity for SEAProTI to engage in cross-disciplinary dialogue between the legal and language professions emphasizing the crucial role of professional translators and interpreters in international arbitration, where linguistic precision and cultural understanding are vital to fair proceedings.
The event concluded with Closing Remarks and a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Lusiana Indomo, Executive Director of ICC Indonesia, followed by a Networking Reception, where participants from various countries shared experiences and explored future collaborations.

About Certified Translators, Translation Certifiers, and Certified Interpreters of SEAProTI
The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has formally announced the qualifications and requirements for registration of Certified Translators, Translation Certification Providers, and Certified Interpreters in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Gazette, published by the Secretariat of the Cabinet, Office of the Prime Minister of Thailand, on 25 July 2024 (Vol. 141, Part 66 Ng, p. 100). The Council of State has proposed the enactment of a Royal Decree, granting registered translators and recognized translation certifiers from professional associations or accredited language institutions the authority to provide legally valid translation certification (Letter to SEAProTI dated April 28, 2025)
SEAProTI is the first professional association in Thailand and Southeast Asia to implement a comprehensive certification system for translators, certifiers, and interpreters.

29 ตุลาคม 2568, จาการ์ตา ประเทศอินโดนีเซีย — วันที่จัดงาน ICC Arbitration Day 2025 ซึ่งจัดโดย International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Dispute Resolution Services ได้รับเกียรติจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านกฎหมายและอนุญาโตตุลาการจากทั่วภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ เข้าร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับการพัฒนาและแนวโน้มของกฎหมายอนุญาโตตุลาการในอินโดนีเซีย

เวทีดังกล่าวได้รวบรวมผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิด้านกฎหมายจากหลากหลายประเทศ เช่น สิงคโปร์ ฟิลิปปินส์ มาเลเซีย และอินโดนีเซีย เพื่อหารือแนวทางการปรับปรุงกฎหมายอนุญาโตตุลาการให้สอดคล้องกับแนวปฏิบัติสากล

สำนักคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาเสนอให้ตราเป็นพระราชกฤษฎีกา โดยกำหนดให้นักแปลที่ขึ้นทะเบียน รวมถึงผู้รับรองการแปลจากสมาคมวิชาชีพหรือสถาบันสอนภาษาที่มีการอบรมและขึ้นทะเบียน สามารถรับรองคำแปลได้ (จดหมายถึงสมาคม SEAProTI ลงวันที่ 28 เม.ย. 2568)
