SEAProTI to Host CPD Seminar on “The Role of Interpreters in IVF Counselling”
to Strengthen Professional Standards in Specialized Medical Contexts
19 February 2026, Bangkok – The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) will host a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminar titled “The Role of Interpreters in Infertility (IVF) Counselling: Linguistic Precision, Language, and Professional Ethics” on Saturday, 1 March 2026, from 17:00 to 18:00 hrs. The program is open to SEAProTI members and invited participants.
The seminar will feature Sittaphat Tangwatanaichaisakul, Assistant to the General Manager at 120y Med & Wellness, who will share practical insights and professional perspectives from the field of fertility counselling. This medical specialty involves complex clinical terminology, legal risk considerations, and highly sensitive emotional dimensions for patients.
IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) counselling extends beyond explaining medical procedures. It encompasses communication of risks, success probabilities, potential side effects, and the conditions of informed consent. In situations where patients and healthcare professionals do not share the same language, interpreters play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy of information, safeguarding patient rights, and minimizing risks arising from linguistic miscommunication.
The seminar will focus on strengthening professional interpreting standards within the field of reproductive medicine, addressing linguistic precision, professional neutrality, and the management of culturally and ethically sensitive issues. The objective is to equip practitioners with the competencies necessary to perform effectively in high-stakes medical settings aligned with international standards.
This CPD initiative reflects SEAProTI’s ongoing commitment to professional development and reinforces the critical importance of interpreters in specialized domains where communication directly impacts life-changing decisions.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially shared the qualifications and requirements for becoming Certified Translators, Translation Certification Providers, and Certified Interpreters in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Gazette, which was published by the Prime Minister’s Office in Thailand on July 25, 2024. The Council of State has proposed the enactment of a Royal Decree, granting registered translators and recognised translation certifiers from professional associations or accredited language institutions the authority to provide legally valid translation certification (Letter to SEAProTI dated April 28, 2025)
SEAProTI is the first professional association in Thailand and Southeast Asia to implement a comprehensive certification system for translators, certifiers, and interpreters.

19 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569, กรุงเทพมหานคร – สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) กำหนดจัดสัมมนา Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program ในหัวข้อ “บทบาทล่ามในการให้คำปรึกษาด้านภาวะผู้มีบุตรยาก (IVF): ความแม่นยำ ภาษา และจริยธรรมวิชาชีพ” ในวันเสาร์ที่ 1 มีนาคม 2569 เวลา 17.00–18.00 น. สำหรับสมาชิกสมาคมและผู้ได้รับเชิญ
การสัมมนาครั้งนี้ได้รับเกียรติจาก พจ.สิตาพัชร์ ตั้งวัฒนไชยสกุล ตำแหน่ง Assistant to General Manager, 120y Med & Wellness เป็นวิทยากรถ่ายทอดประสบการณ์และมุมมองเชิงปฏิบัติในบริบทการให้คำปรึกษาผู้มีบุตรยาก ซึ่งเป็นสาขาการแพทย์ที่มีความซับซ้อนทั้งด้านศัพท์เฉพาะทางคลินิก ความเสี่ยงทางกฎหมาย และมิติทางอารมณ์ของผู้รับบริการ
กระบวนการให้คำปรึกษา IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) ไม่ได้จำกัดเพียงการอธิบายขั้นตอนการรักษา แต่ครอบคลุมถึงการสื่อสารความเสี่ยง โอกาสความสำเร็จ ผลข้างเคียง และเงื่อนไขของความยินยอมโดยรู้ข้อมูล (Informed Consent) ในกรณีที่ผู้ป่วยและบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ใช้ภาษาต่างกัน บทบาทของล่ามจึงมีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อความถูกต้องของข้อมูล การคุ้มครองสิทธิผู้ป่วย และการลดความเสี่ยงจากความคลาดเคลื่อนทางภาษา
เนื้อหาการสัมมนาจะมุ่งเน้นการยกระดับมาตรฐานวิชาชีพล่ามในบริบทเวชศาสตร์การเจริญพันธุ์ ทั้งด้านความแม่นยำเชิงภาษา การรักษาความเป็นกลางทางวิชาชีพ และการจัดการประเด็นอ่อนไหวเชิงวัฒนธรรมและจริยธรรม เพื่อให้ผู้ปฏิบัติงานสามารถทำหน้าที่ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพและสอดคล้องกับมาตรฐานสากล
การจัดกิจกรรม CPD ครั้งนี้สะท้อนพันธกิจของ SEAProTI ในการส่งเสริมการพัฒนาวิชาชีพอย่างต่อเนื่อง และตอกย้ำความสำคัญของบทบาทล่ามในงานเฉพาะทางที่มีผลกระทบสูงต่อชีวิตและการตัดสินใจของผู้รับบริการ

สำนักคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาเสนอให้ตราเป็นพระราชกฤษฎีกา โดยกำหนดให้นักแปลที่ขึ้นทะเบียน รวมถึงผู้รับรองการแปลจากสมาคมวิชาชีพหรือสถาบันสอนภาษาที่มีการอบรมและขึ้นทะเบียน สามารถรับรองคำแปลได้ (จดหมายถึงสมาคม SEAProTI ลงวันที่ 28 เม.ย. 2568)
