SEAProTI to Host CPD Program on the Role of Language and Interpreting in Military and Security Contexts
11 March 2026, Bangkok – The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) will host a professional development event as part of its SEAProTI Sharing: A CPD Program series, focusing on the role of language professionals in military and security environments. The session aims to provide insights into how interpreting and language expertise contribute to communication in strategic and operational contexts.
The program, titled “Language and Security: Exploring Interpreting in Military Contexts and Opportunities for Civilian Interpreters in Tactical Training Programs,” will be held on 22 March 2026 from 17:00 to 18:00.
The keynote speaker for the event is Lieutenant Colonel Honglada Klaharn, Head of the Initiative Section at the Ministry of Defence’s Strategic Planning Office. She will share her professional experience and perspectives on how language and interpreting function within military operations and security-related environments.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore several key topics, including the terminology and language used in military contexts, the role of interpreters in defence and security operations, and the opportunities available for civilian interpreters to collaborate with military institutions. The session will also address professional considerations such as ethical conduct and potential career pathways for language professionals working in security-related fields.
The discussion will be moderated by Wanitcha Sumanas, President of the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) and an arbitrator, mediator, and forensic linguistics practitioner.
SEAProTI’s CPD programs are designed to support the continuing professional development of translators and interpreters by connecting practitioners with experts from various sectors where language services play a critical role. The association hopes that this session will broaden participants’ understanding of interpreting in specialized environments and highlight emerging professional opportunities in the field.
Participants attending the session will also be eligible to receive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.
This event forms part of SEAProTI’s ongoing effort to strengthen professional standards and expand knowledge for translators and interpreters across Southeast Asia.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially shared the qualifications and requirements for becoming Certified Translators, Translation Certification Providers, and Certified Interpreters in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Gazette, which was published by the Prime Minister’s Office in Thailand on July 25, 2024. The Council of State has proposed the enactment of a Royal Decree, granting registered translators and recognised translation certifiers from professional associations or accredited language institutions the authority to provide legally valid translation certification (Letter to SEAProTI dated April 28, 2025)
SEAProTI is the first professional association in Thailand and Southeast Asia to implement a comprehensive certification system for translators, certifiers, and interpreters.

SEAProTI เตรียมจัด CPD Program ว่าด้วยบทบาทของภาษาและการล่ามในบริบทด้านทหารและความมั่นคง
11 มีนาคม 2569, กรุงเทพมหานคร – สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) เตรียมจัดกิจกรรมพัฒนาวิชาชีพภายใต้ชุดกิจกรรม SEAProTI Sharing: A CPD Program โดยมุ่งเน้นบทบาทของผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านภาษาในบริบทของงานด้านการทหารและความมั่นคง กิจกรรมดังกล่าวมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อให้ผู้เข้าร่วมได้ทำความเข้าใจถึงบทบาทของการล่ามและความเชี่ยวชาญด้านภาษาในการสนับสนุนการสื่อสารในบริบทเชิงยุทธศาสตร์และการปฏิบัติการ
โครงการเสวนาในหัวข้อ “Language and Security: Exploring Interpreting in Military Contexts and Opportunities for Civilian Interpreters in Tactical Training Programs” มีกำหนดจัดขึ้นในวันที่ 22 มีนาคม 2569 เวลา 17.00 – 18.00 น.
วิทยากรหลักของงานคือ พันโทหญิง หงษ์ลดา กล้าหาญ หัวหน้าแผนกความคิดริเริ่ม สำนักงานนโยบายและแผนกระทรวงกลาโหม ซึ่งจะมาร่วมถ่ายทอดประสบการณ์และมุมมองเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของภาษาและการล่ามในการปฏิบัติงานทางทหาร รวมถึงบริบทที่เกี่ยวข้องกับความมั่นคง
ผู้เข้าร่วมจะได้เรียนรู้ประเด็นสำคัญหลายด้าน อาทิ คำศัพท์และภาษาที่ใช้ในบริบททางทหาร บทบาทของล่ามในงานด้านกลาโหมและความมั่นคง ตลอดจนโอกาสของล่ามพลเรือนในการร่วมทำงานกับหน่วยงานด้านทหาร นอกจากนี้ยังจะมีการกล่าวถึงประเด็นด้านจรรยาบรรณวิชาชีพและเส้นทางอาชีพของผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพด้านภาษาในสาขาที่เกี่ยวข้องกับความมั่นคง
การเสวนาครั้งนี้จะดำเนินรายการโดย คุณวณิชชา สุมานัส นายกสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ซึ่งเป็นทั้งอนุญาโตตุลาการ ผู้ไกล่เกลี่ย และผู้ปฏิบัติงานด้านนิติภาษาศาสตร์
โครงการ CPD Program ของ SEAProTI มีเป้าหมายเพื่อสนับสนุนการพัฒนาวิชาชีพอย่างต่อเนื่องของนักแปลและล่าม โดยเชื่อมโยงผู้ปฏิบัติงานในวิชาชีพกับผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากหลากหลายภาคส่วนที่ภาษาและการสื่อสารมีบทบาทสำคัญ สมาคมหวังว่ากิจกรรมครั้งนี้จะช่วยเปิดมุมมองใหม่เกี่ยวกับงานล่ามในบริบทเฉพาะทาง และสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงโอกาสทางวิชาชีพที่กำลังเกิดขึ้นในสายงานนี้
ผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมจะสามารถสะสม หน่วยคะแนนการพัฒนาวิชาชีพต่อเนื่อง (Continuing Professional Development: CPD Points) ได้
กิจกรรมดังกล่าวเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของความพยายามอย่างต่อเนื่องของ SEAProTI ในการยกระดับมาตรฐานวิชาชีพ และขยายองค์ความรู้ให้แก่นักแปลและล่ามในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้
สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ได้ประกาศหลักเกณฑ์และคุณสมบัติของผู้ที่ขึ้นทะเบียนเป็น “นักแปลรับรอง (Certified Translators) และผู้รับรองการแปล (Translation Certification Providers) และล่ามรับรอง (Certified Interpreters)” ของสมาคม หมวดที่ 9 และหมวดที่ 10 ในราชกิจจานุเบกษา ของสำนักเลขาธิการคณะรัฐมนตรี ในสำนักนายกรัฐมนตรี แห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย ลงวันที่ 25 ก.ค. 2567 เล่มที่ 141 ตอนที่ 66 ง หน้า 100 อ่านฉบับเต็มได้ที่: นักแปลรับรอง ผู้รับรองการแปล และล่ามรับรอง
สำนักคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาเสนอให้ตราเป็นพระราชกฤษฎีกา โดยกำหนดให้นักแปลที่ขึ้นทะเบียน รวมถึงผู้รับรองการแปลจากสมาคมวิชาชีพหรือสถาบันสอนภาษาที่มีการอบรมและขึ้นทะเบียน สามารถรับรองคำแปลได้ (จดหมายถึงสมาคม SEAProTI ลงวันที่ 28 เม.ย. 2568)
