1 March 2026, Bangkok – Executives from the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) attended the official launch ceremony of the Thai Mediation and Debt Association (TMDA) to extend congratulations and strengthen professional collaboration between language practitioners and dispute resolution professionals.
The ceremony was held on Saturday, 28 February 2026, at S.D. Avenue Hotel in Bangkok, in a warm yet formal atmosphere.
The SEAProTI delegation included Wanitcha Sumanat, President of the Association; Preecha Wipawasut, Vice President; Acting Sub Lt. Wichayatorn Rangsitharn, Credential Committee Member; Ajarn Mayuree Chuanchom, Human Rights Trainer; and Acting Sub Lt. Dr. Cheeviwat Wanarom, Executive from the Department of Rights and Liberties Protection, Ministry of Justice. The delegation joined in congratulating the Board of Directors and Advisors of TMDA and participated in commemorative photographs.
During the event, participants exchanged perspectives on the role of language professionals in supporting dispute mediation processes, including civil cases, labor disputes, and international commercial conflicts. Emphasis was placed on the critical role of translators and interpreters in ensuring accurate, impartial communication and minimizing semantic misunderstandings that may directly impact negotiation outcomes.
SEAProTI’s participation reflects the shared vision of both associations to elevate professional standards and foster collaboration among mediators, legal practitioners, and language professionals. Such cooperation aims to promote dispute resolution processes that are efficient, transparent, and fair.
This milestone marks an important step toward integrating expertise in language and mediation, contributing to the development of a stronger professional ecosystem and sustainable service to Thai society.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially shared the qualifications and requirements for becoming Certified Translators, Translation Certification Providers, and Certified Interpreters in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Gazette, which was published by the Prime Minister’s Office in Thailand on July 25, 2024. The Council of State has proposed the enactment of a Royal Decree, granting registered translators and recognised translation certifiers from professional associations or accredited language institutions the authority to provide legally valid translation certification (Letter to SEAProTI dated April 28, 2025)
SEAProTI is the first professional association in Thailand and Southeast Asia to implement a comprehensive certification system for translators, certifiers, and interpreters.

1 มีนาคม 2569, กรุงเทพมหานคร — ผู้บริหารจาก สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) เข้าร่วมพิธีเปิดตัวอย่างเป็นทางการของ สมาคมส่งเสริมการไกล่เกลี่ยข้อพิพาทและหนี้สินไทย (TMDA) เพื่อร่วมแสดงความยินดีและเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือทางวิชาชีพระหว่างผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านภาษาและผู้ปฏิบัติงานด้านการระงับข้อพิพาท
พิธีดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นเมื่อวันเสาร์ที่ 28 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 ณ โรงแรม เอส.ดี.อเวนิว กรุงเทพมหานคร ท่ามกลางบรรยากาศที่อบอุ่นและเป็นทางการ
คณะผู้แทนจาก SEAProTI ประกอบด้วย คุณวณิชชา สุมานัส นายกสมาคมฯ ท่านปรีชา วิภวศุทธิ์ อุปนายกสมาคมฯ ว่าที่ร้อยตรี วิชญธร รังษิธารณ์ กรรมการตรวจสอบคุณสมบัตินักวิชาชีพ อาจารย์มยุรี ชวนชม เทรนเนอร์ด้านสิทธิมนุษยชน และ ว่าที่ร้อยโท ดร.ชีวีวัฒน์ หวานอารมย์ ผู้บริหารจากกรมคุ้มครองสิทธิและเสรีภาพ กระทรวงยุติธรรม โดยได้ร่วมแสดงความยินดีกับคณะกรรมการและที่ปรึกษาของ TMDA พร้อมทั้งถ่ายภาพที่ระลึกร่วมกัน
ภายในงานมีการแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของนักแปลและล่ามในการสนับสนุนกระบวนการไกล่เกลี่ยข้อพิพาท ทั้งในคดีแพ่ง คดีแรงงาน และข้อพิพาททางธุรกิจระหว่างประเทศ โดยเน้นย้ำถึงความสำคัญของการสื่อสารที่ถูกต้อง เป็นกลาง และลดความคลาดเคลื่อนทางความหมาย ซึ่งอาจส่งผลโดยตรงต่อผลลัพธ์ของการเจรจา
การเข้าร่วมงานในครั้งนี้สะท้อนถึงวิสัยทัศน์ร่วมกันของทั้งสององค์กรในการยกระดับมาตรฐานวิชาชีพ และส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างนักไกล่เกลี่ย นักกฎหมาย และนักวิชาชีพด้านภาษา เพื่อสนับสนุนกระบวนการระงับข้อพิพาทที่มีประสิทธิภาพ โปร่งใส และเป็นธรรม
ความเคลื่อนไหวครั้งนี้นับเป็นอีกก้าวสำคัญของการบูรณาการองค์ความรู้ด้านภาษาและการไกล่เกลี่ย อันจะนำไปสู่การพัฒนาระบบวิชาชีพที่เข้มแข็ง และการให้บริการแก่สังคมไทยอย่างยั่งยืนในระยะยาว
สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ได้ประกาศหลักเกณฑ์และคุณสมบัติของผู้ที่ขึ้นทะเบียนเป็น “นักแปลรับรอง (Certified Translators) และผู้รับรองการแปล (Translation Certification Providers) และล่ามรับรอง (Certified Interpreters)” ของสมาคม หมวดที่ 9 และหมวดที่ 10 ในราชกิจจานุเบกษา ของสำนักเลขาธิการคณะรัฐมนตรี ในสำนักนายกรัฐมนตรี แห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย ลงวันที่ 25 ก.ค. 2567 เล่มที่ 141 ตอนที่ 66 ง หน้า 100 อ่านฉบับเต็มได้ที่: นักแปลรับรอง ผู้รับรองการแปล และล่ามรับรอง
สำนักคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาเสนอให้ตราเป็นพระราชกฤษฎีกา โดยกำหนดให้นักแปลที่ขึ้นทะเบียน รวมถึงผู้รับรองการแปลจากสมาคมวิชาชีพหรือสถาบันสอนภาษาที่มีการอบรมและขึ้นทะเบียน สามารถรับรองคำแปลได้ (จดหมายถึงสมาคม SEAProTI ลงวันที่ 28 เม.ย. 2568)
