SEAProTI Partners with the UK Subtitlers’ Association to Elevate Subtitling and Multimedia Translation Standards in Southeast Asia
13 November 2025 – Wanitcha Sumanat, President of the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI), and Chayapat Aramungputhikul, Honorary Advisor to the Credential Review Committee of SEAProTI, held an online meeting with representatives of the Subtitlers’ Association, a professional organisation for film and subtitle translators established in the United Kingdom with over 20 years of experience.
The meeting focused on:

Developing professional standards for subtitle translators in Southeast Asia

Establishing collaborative programmes for training, skills development, and joint qualification frameworks

Exchanging technical expertise, international subtitling tools, and approaches for emerging multimedia formats
Both organisations shared a mutual understanding that closer cooperation between SEAProTI and the Subtitlers’ Association will expand opportunities for film and media translators in Southeast Asia to access global standards. This partnership aims to strengthen the region’s capacity in multimedia translation and support a more structured and internationally aligned professional ecosystem.
The meeting marks a significant step toward building an international collaboration network that will benefit both emerging and experienced translators working in film, series, animation, and rapidly growing digital content industries.
SEAProTI remains committed to advancing this partnership and will continue to update members and the public on forthcoming initiatives

SEAProTI จับมือ Subtitlers’ Association สหราชอาณาจักร ยกระดับมาตรฐานซับไตเติลและงานแปลมัลติมีเดียในอาเซียน
วันที่ 13 พฤศจิกายน 2568 คุณ วณิชชา สุมานัส นายกสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) และคุณ ชญาพัทธ์ อรมังพุฒิกุล ที่ปรึกษากิตติมศักดิ์คณะกรรมการตรวจสอบคุณสมบัติของสมาคม ได้ร่วมการประชุมออนไลน์กับตัวแทนจาก Subtitlers’ Association องค์กรวิชาชีพด้านงานแปลบทภาพยนตร์และซับไตเติลที่ก่อตั้งในสหราชอาณาจักรและดำเนินงานมากว่า 20 ปี
การหารือในครั้งนี้มุ่งเน้นไปที่
- การพัฒนามาตรฐานวิชาชีพของผู้แปลซับไตเติลในภูมิภาคอาเซียน
- การสร้างโครงการความร่วมมือด้านการฝึกอบรม การยกระดับทักษะ และการรับรองคุณวุฒิร่วมกัน
- แลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ด้านเทคนิค การใช้เครื่องมือซับไตเติลสากล และแนวทางรับมือกับสื่อรูปแบบใหม่
ทั้งสององค์กรเห็นพ้องร่วมกันว่า ความร่วมมือระหว่าง SEAProTI และ Subtitlers’ Association จะช่วยส่งเสริมให้ผู้แปลบทภาพยนตร์ในเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้มีโอกาสเข้าถึงมาตรฐานสากลมากยิ่งขึ้น พร้อมเป็นแรงขับเคลื่อนให้เกิดการยกระดับวิชาชีพด้านการแปลสื่อมัลติมีเดียในภูมิภาคอย่างเป็นระบบ
การประชุมครั้งนี้ถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญสู่การสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือระดับนานาชาติ ซึ่งจะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อทั้งนักแปลรุ่นใหม่และผู้เชี่ยวชาญในสายงานภาพยนตร์ ซีรีส์ แอนิเมชัน และคอนเทนต์ดิจิทัลที่เติบโตอย่างรวดเร็วในปัจจุบัน
สมาคม SEAProTI มุ่งมั่นเดินหน้าความร่วมมือนี้อย่างต่อเนื่อง และจะเผยแพร่ความคืบหน้าโครงการต่าง ๆ ให้สาธารณชนและสมาชิกได้รับทราบต่อไป

** สำนักคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาเสนอให้ตราเป็นพระราชกฤษฎีกา โดยกำหนดให้นักแปลที่ขึ้นทะเบียน รวมถึงผู้รับรองการแปลจากสมาคมวิชาชีพหรือสถาบันสอนภาษาที่มีการอบรมและขึ้นทะเบียน สามารถรับรองคำแปลได้ (จดหมายถึงสมาคม SEAProTI ลงวันที่ 28 เม.ย. 2568)
