About Certified Translators, Translation Certifiers, and Certified Interpreters of SEAProTI

การแปลโสตทัศน์ (Audiovisual Translation: AVT) เป็นสาขาการแปลที่มีลักษณะเฉพาะ ทั้งในด้านข้อจำกัดทางเวลา พื้นที่ การซิงโครไนซ์เสียง และบริบททางวัฒนธรรม (Díaz Cintas & Remael, 2021) ในบริบทของประเทศไทย การเติบโตของแพลตฟอร์มสตรีมมิ่งระดับโลกทำให้ความต้องการนักแปลซับไตเติลและบทพากษ์เพิ่มสูงขึ้นอย่างมาก อย่างไรก็ดี ตลาดแรงงานดังกล่าวยังขาดระบบรับรองสถานะและมาตรฐานวิชาชีพที่ชัดเจน ส่งผลให้คุณภาพงานไม่สม่ำเสมอ และนักแปลจำนวนมากขาดกลไกคุ้มครองทางวิชาชีพ
ปัญหาด้านมาตรฐานและสถานะของนักแปลโสตทัศน์

การจัดตั้งชมรมนักแปลซับสตรีมมิ่งไทย (STS) ภายใต้การกำกับดูแลของ SEAProTI เป็นความพยายามในการสร้าง “ระบบวิชาชีพ” สำหรับนักแปลโสตทัศน์ โดยการขึ้นบัญชีไม่ได้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพียงเพื่อรวบรวมรายชื่อผู้ประกอบอาชีพเท่านั้น แต่ทำหน้าที่เป็นกลไกในการ
- ตรวจสอบคุณสมบัติและความสามารถ ต้องผ่านการอบรมหลักสูตรภาคบังคับ และต้องมีประสบการณ์ในการทำงานจริงไม่น้อยกว่า 1 ปี
- กำหนดมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติงาน
- ส่งเสริมการพัฒนาวิชาชีพอย่างต่อเนื่อง
แนวคิดดังกล่าวสอดคล้องกับหลักการกำกับตนเองของวิชาชีพ (professional self-regulation) ซึ่งเป็นรากฐานสำคัญของวิชาชีพด้านภาษาในระดับนานาชาติ (AIIC, 2018)
ประโยชน์ของการขึ้นบัญชีในเชิงวิชาชีพ
การยอมรับสถานะทางวิชาชีพ
การขึ้นบัญชีช่วยให้นักแปลมีสถานะชัดเจนในฐานะผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพ ไม่ใช่แรงงานอิสระที่ขาดการรับรอง ส่งผลให้สามารถใช้อ้างอิงในประวัติวิชาชีพ (CV) และการเสนองานได้อย่างเป็นทางการ
การเข้าถึงโอกาสงานและตลาดคุณภาพ
