Joins Relief Efforts for Victims of Major Plastic Factory Fire in Lat Krabang-Nong Chok
Bangkok, 12 May 2025 – Mr. Na. Naen Chanpleng, Vice President of the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) and an experienced arbitrator and dispute mediator, participated in the emergency response operation as a Civil Defence Volunteer (Or Por Por Ror) to assist residents affected by the massive fire at a Taiwanese-owned plastic factory in the Lat Krabang, Nong Chok, and Min Buri districts of Bangkok. The serious fire raged for nearly two days before being brought under control in the evening of 12 May, with heavy rainfall playing a vital role in extinguishing the flames.
The relief operation was a coordinated effort involving multiple agencies under the command of Bangkok Governor Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt. He was joined on-site by Ms. Teerarat Samrejvanich, Member of Parliament for Lat Krabang, Nong Chok, and Min Buri, as well as the Deputy Minister of the Interior. They visited the affected areas to offer support and encouragement to both the emergency personnel and the affected residents.
During the mission, Mr. Naen Chanpleng had an unexpected but heartwarming reunion with a former colleague from his time as a legal officer at the Expressway Authority of Thailand nearly 40 years ago. That colleague, who now also serves as an arbitrator, shared a brief moment of camaraderie amid the unfolding crisis.
The devastating fire severely impacted the local community, causing widespread property damage and raising serious health concerns due to toxic airborne pollutants. Mr. Naen Chanpleng, alongside the volunteer team and emergency response personnel, worked tirelessly to assist with evacuations, ensure public safety, and provide humanitarian relief to those affected.
“As a dispute mediator and arbitrator, I believe it is a social responsibility to step forward and assist the community in times of distress. This commitment forms part of our professional duty as legal experts and language professionals,” Mr. Naen Chanpleng stated.
SEAProTI reaffirmed its commitment to supporting civil society and participating in emergency relief efforts whenever called upon. The association remains ready to contribute to the safety and welfare of the public in times of crisis.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially announced the criteria and qualifications for individuals to register as “Certified Translators,” “Translation Certification Providers,” and “Certified Interpreters” under the association’s regulations. These guidelines are detailed in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Thai Government Gazette, issued by the Secretariat of the Cabinet under the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, dated July 25, 2024, Volume 141, Part 66 Ng, Page 100.

ณ.เณร จันทร์เปล่ง อุปนายก SEAProTI และอนุญาโตตุลาการ ร่วมภารกิจช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัยไฟไหม้โรงงานพลาสติกย่านลาดกระบัง-หนองจอก
กรุงเทพมหานคร, 12 พฤษภาคม 2568 – ณ.เณร จันทร์เปล่ง อุปนายกสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) และอนุญาโตตุลาการ ผู้ไกล่เกลี่ยข้อพิพาท ได้ลงพื้นที่ร่วมปฏิบัติหน้าที่ในฐานะอาสาสมัครป้องกันภัยฝ่ายพลเรือน (อปพร.) เพื่อช่วยเหลือประชาชนที่ได้รับผลกระทบจากเหตุการณ์เพลิงไหม้โรงงานพลาสติกของชาวไต้หวัน ในเขตลาดกระบัง หนองจอก และมีนบุรี ซึ่งเป็นเหตุการณ์ร้ายแรงที่กินระยะเวลานานถึงสองวัน ก่อนที่เจ้าหน้าที่จะสามารถควบคุมเพลิงได้ในช่วงเย็นของวันที่ 12 พฤษภาคม โดยได้รับอิทธิพลจากพายุฝนตกหนักช่วยในการดับเพลิง
ภารกิจช่วยเหลือครั้งนี้เกิดจากความร่วมมือของหลายหน่วยงาน โดยมีนายชัชชาติ สิทธิพันธุ์ ผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพมหานคร เป็นผู้อำนวยการเหตุการณ์ พร้อมด้วยนางสาวธีรรัตน์ สำเร็จวาณิชย์ สมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎร เขตลาดกระบัง หนองจอก และมีนบุรี รวมทั้งรัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงมหาดไทย ร่วมลงพื้นที่เพื่อตรวจเยี่ยมและให้กำลังใจเจ้าหน้าที่และประชาชนในพื้นที่ประสบภัย
ณ.เณร จันทร์เปล่ง ยังได้มีโอกาสพบกับเพื่อนร่วมงานเก่าสมัยรับราชการเป็นนิติกร ณ การทางพิเศษแห่งประเทศไทย เมื่อเกือบ 40 ปีก่อน ซึ่งปัจจุบันดำรงตำแหน่งอนุญาโตตุลาการเช่นเดียวกัน ถือเป็นอีกหนึ่งช่วงเวลาแห่งความประทับใจท่ามกลางสถานการณ์วิกฤต
เหตุเพลิงไหม้ครั้งนี้ส่งผลกระทบรุนแรงในวงกว้าง ทั้งด้านสุขภาพของประชาชนจากสารพิษในอากาศและความเสียหายต่อทรัพย์สินจำนวนมาก ณ.เณร จันทร์เปล่ง พร้อมด้วยอาสาสมัคร อปพร. และเจ้าหน้าที่ทุกฝ่าย ได้ลงพื้นที่ให้ความช่วยเหลือประชาชน อำนวยความสะดวกในการอพยพ และดูแลความปลอดภัยอย่างเต็มความสามารถ
“ในฐานะผู้ไกล่เกลี่ยข้อพิพาทและอนุญาโตตุลาการ การได้ลงพื้นที่ช่วยเหลือประชาชนในยามเดือดร้อน ถือเป็นอีกบทบาทหนึ่งของความรับผิดชอบต่อสังคมของผู้ปฏิบัติงานด้านกฎหมายและวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่าม” ณ.เณร จันทร์เปล่ง กล่าว
