Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI)
Subject: Classification of Members by Registration and Certification Status, 2026
To ensure effective, transparent, and accountable management of its membership system, the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) hereby issues the following announcement regarding the classification of members according to their registration and certification status for the year 2026.
Group 1: Certified & Registered Members
This group consists of members who have been officially certified and assigned a registration number (Running Number) by the Association.
They are required to:
- Submit 10 translation works at the end of the year for the annual performance evaluation; and
- Accumulate at least 5 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities within the membership year.
Group 2: Certified Members Pending Publication
- These members have completed the certification process and passed all evaluations by the Credential Committee.
- They are currently awaiting the preparation of official equipment, certification seals, and relevant documentation.
- Once completed, their names will be officially published on the Association’s website.
Group 3: Newly Admitted Members
This group includes members who have passed the language proficiency test required by the Association and have recently applied for membership.
If their test scores fall below the required threshold, they may:
- Cancel their membership application and receive a refund under the Association’s policy; or
- Retake the examination and reapply for certification once the new score meets the minimum criteria.
Group 4: Pre-Certification Club Members
- These members are currently in the preparation stage for the certification examination.
- They are eligible to participate in CPD training, workshops, and networking events organized by the Association.
- Upon meeting the examination requirements, they may advance to the status of “Newly Admitted Member” and enter the official certification process.
About Certified Translators, Translation Certifiers, and Certified Interpreters of SEAProTI
The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has formally announced the qualifications and requirements for registration of Certified Translators, Translation Certification Providers, and Certified Interpreters in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Gazette, published by the Secretariat of the Cabinet, Office of the Prime Minister of Thailand, on 25 July 2024 (Vol. 141, Part 66 Ng, p. 100). The Council of State has proposed the enactment of a Royal Decree, granting registered translators and recognized translation certifiers from professional associations or accredited language institutions the authority to provide legally valid translation certification (Letter to SEAProTI dated April 28, 2025)
SEAProTI is the first professional association in Thailand and Southeast Asia to implement a comprehensive certification system for translators, certifiers, and interpreters.

การจำแนกกลุ่มสมาชิกตามสถานะการขึ้นทะเบียนและการรับรอง ปี พ.ศ. 2569
เพื่อให้การบริหารจัดการสมาชิกของสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters – SEAProTI) เป็นไปอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ โปร่งใส และตรวจสอบได้ สมาคมฯ จึงขอประกาศ โครงสร้างการจำแนกกลุ่มสมาชิก ตามสถานะการขึ้นทะเบียนและการรับรองในปี พ.ศ. 2569 ดังต่อไปนี้
กลุ่มที่ 1: สมาชิกที่ขึ้นทะเบียนรับรองแล้ว (Certified & Registered Members)
สมาชิกกลุ่มนี้เป็นผู้ที่ผ่านการรับรองและได้รับหมายเลขทะเบียน (Running Number) อย่างเป็นทางการจากสมาคมฯ
มีหน้าที่ต้องส่ง
- ผลงานแปลปลายปี จำนวน 10 ชิ้น เพื่อประกอบการประเมินผลงานประจำปี
- ใบรับรองการพัฒนาวิชาชีพต่อเนื่อง (CPD) อย่างน้อย 5 กิจกรรม ภายในรอบปีนั้น ๆ
กลุ่มที่ 2: สมาชิกที่ผ่านการรับรองแล้วแต่รอประกาศรายชื่อ (Pending Publication Members)
- เป็นผู้ที่ผ่านกระบวนการรับรองจากคณะกรรมการตรวจสอบคุณสมบัติเรียบร้อยแล้ว
- อยู่ระหว่างขั้นตอนการจัดเตรียม ตราประทับ อุปกรณ์การทำงาน และเอกสารประกอบการรับรอง
- หลังจากดำเนินการครบถ้วนแล้ว จะมีการประกาศรายชื่อบนเว็บไซต์ทางการของสมาคม
กลุ่มที่ 3: สมาชิกผู้สอบผ่านและเพิ่งสมัครเข้าร่วม (Newly Admitted Members)
- เป็นผู้ที่เพิ่งสอบผ่านสมรรถนะทางภาษาตามเกณฑ์ของสมาคมฯ และยื่นสมัครเข้าร่วมเป็นสมาชิก
- ในกรณีที่ผลสอบ ไม่ถึงเกณฑ์ขั้นต่ำที่กำหนด
- สมาชิกสามารถ ขอยกเลิกการสมัคร และรับเงินคืนตามเงื่อนไขที่สมาคมกำหนดได้
- หรือสามารถ รอสอบใหม่จนกว่าจะได้คะแนนถึงเกณฑ์ แล้วนำผลสอบใหม่มายื่นเพื่อรับรองได้เช่นกัน
กลุ่มที่ 4: สมาชิกชมรมเตรียมสอบ (Pre-Certification Club Members)
- เป็นกลุ่มสมาชิกที่อยู่ระหว่างการเตรียมความพร้อมเข้าสู่การสอบรับรองของสมาคมฯ
- มีสิทธิ์เข้าร่วม กิจกรรมพัฒนาวิชาชีพ (CPD Training), การอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการ และกิจกรรมเครือข่ายของสมาคม
- เมื่อสอบผ่านตามเกณฑ์ที่กำหนดแล้ว จะสามารถเปลี่ยนสถานะเป็น “สมาชิกผู้สอบผ่าน” เพื่อเข้าสู่กระบวนการรับรองอย่างเป็นทางการต่อไป

* สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ได้ประกาศหลักเกณฑ์และคุณสมบัติผู้ที่ขึ้นทะเบียนเป็น “นักแปลรับรอง (Certified Translators) และผู้รับรองการแปล (Translation Certification Providers) และล่ามรับรอง (Certified Interpreters)” ของสมาคม หมวดที่ 9 และหมวดที่ 10 ในราชกิจจานุเบกษา ของสำนักเลขาธิการคณะรัฐมนตรี ในสำนักนายกรัฐมนตรี แห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย ลงวันที่ 25 ก.ค. 2567 เล่มที่ 141 ตอนที่ 66 ง หน้า 100 อ่านฉบับเต็มได้ที่: นักแปลรับรอง ผู้รับรองการแปล และล่ามรับรอง
** สำนักคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาเสนอให้ตราเป็นพระราชกฤษฎีกา โดยกำหนดให้นักแปลที่ขึ้นทะเบียน รวมถึงผู้รับรองการแปลจากสมาคมวิชาชีพหรือสถาบันสอนภาษาที่มีการอบรมและขึ้นทะเบียน สามารถรับรองคำแปลได้ (จดหมายถึงสมาคม SEAProTI ลงวันที่ 28 เม.ย. 2568)
