Appointment of the Credential Committee for the 2026 Professional Certification Program
Bangkok, 6 October 2025 – The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially announced the appointment of the Credential Committee for the 2026 registration and certification cycle of Certified Translators, Translation Certification Providers, and Certified Interpreters.
The committee operates under the Peer Certification System, a key mechanism designed to uphold professional standards, transparency, and fairness in the recognition and accreditation of translation and interpreting professionals across Southeast Asia.

The Credential Committee is responsible for evaluating and verifying applicants’ qualifications in accordance with SEAProTI’s established standards, and for submitting the names of qualified applicants to the Executive Committee for official endorsement.
All proceedings will be conducted with the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and professional due diligence.
Advancing Professional Standards in the Region
The appointment of this committee marks another significant step in SEAProTI’s mission to promote a fair and transparent certification system, aligned with the Association’s commitment to raising the professional standards of translators and interpreters throughout the ASEAN region to meet international recognition.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has formally announced the qualifications and requirements for registration of Certified Translators, Translation Certification Providers, and Certified Interpreters in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Gazette, published by the Secretariat of the Cabinet, Office of the Prime Minister of Thailand, on 25 July 2024 (Vol. 141, Part 66 Ng, p. 100). The Council of State has proposed the enactment of a Royal Decree, granting registered translators and recognized translation certifiers from professional associations or accredited language institutions the authority to provide legally valid translation certification (Letter to SEAProTI dated April 28, 2025)
SEAProTI is the first professional association in Thailand and Southeast Asia to implement a comprehensive certification system for translators, certifiers, and interpreters.

กรุงเทพมหานคร, วันที่ 6 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2568 – สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters – SEAProTI) ได้ประกาศแต่งตั้ง คณะกรรมการตรวจสอบคุณสมบัติ (Credential Committee) เพื่อดำเนินการขึ้นทะเบียนและรับรอง นักแปลรับรอง ผู้รับรองการแปล และล่ามรับรอง ประจำปี พ.ศ. 2569
คณะกรรมการดังกล่าวปฏิบัติงานภายใต้ ระบบรับรองโดยผู้ที่มีความรู้เสมอกัน (Peer Certification System) ซึ่งเป็นกลไกสำคัญในการยกระดับมาตรฐาน ความโปร่งใส และความเป็นธรรมในการรับรองผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพแปลและล่ามในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้

คณะกรรมการตรวจสอบคุณสมบัติมีหน้าที่ในการประเมิน ตรวจสอบ และรับรองคุณสมบัติของผู้สมัครตามหลักเกณฑ์ที่สมาคมกำหนด
พร้อมทั้งเสนอรายชื่อผู้ผ่านการตรวจสอบต่อคณะกรรมการบริหารเพื่อพิจารณารับรองอย่างเป็นทางการ
โดยการดำเนินงานทั้งหมดจะอยู่ภายใต้หลักความโปร่งใส ความเที่ยงธรรม และความรอบคอบตามจรรยาวิชาชีพ
ก้าวสู่มาตรฐานวิชาชีพระดับภูมิภาค
การแต่งตั้งคณะกรรมการตรวจสอบคุณสมบัติในครั้งนี้ ถือเป็นอีกหนึ่งก้าวสำคัญของ SEAProTI ในการส่งเสริมระบบการรับรองวิชาชีพที่มีความโปร่งใสและเป็นกลาง
สอดคล้องกับพันธกิจของสมาคมในการยกระดับมาตรฐานวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามในภูมิภาคอาเซียนให้เป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับนานาชาติ

** สำนักคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาเสนอให้ตราเป็นพระราชกฤษฎีกา โดยกำหนดให้นักแปลที่ขึ้นทะเบียน รวมถึงผู้รับรองการแปลจากสมาคมวิชาชีพหรือสถาบันสอนภาษาที่มีการอบรมและขึ้นทะเบียน สามารถรับรองคำแปลได้ (จดหมายถึงสมาคม SEAProTI ลงวันที่ 28 เม.ย. 2568)
