The 5th SEAProTI International Translators and Interpreters Summit 2026 (First Half of the Day)

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) cordially invites translators, interpreters, academics, students, and language enthusiasts to participate in “The 5th SEAProTI International Translators and Interpreters Summit 2026,” which will be held on 30–31 May 2026. The sessions on 30 May 2026 will be conducted online via Zoom.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage with distinguished speakers from across Asia who will share their expertise, professional experiences, and perspectives on translation and interpreting in the international arena. The program for the first half of the day includes:

10.00–11.00 Hrs.
“Analysing Linguistic Evidence: A Case Study in the Philippines”
Presented by Kaela Madrunio, forensic linguist and Secretary of the Philippine Association for Forensic and Legal Linguistics, from the Philippines.

11.00–12.00 Hrs.
“Power of Sharing: My Journey as an Interpreter”
Presented by Gracia Siahaan, Trilingual Professional Interpreter (JP–EN–ID), from Indonesia.

13.00–14.00 Hrs.
“Artificial Intelligence in Interpreting: Challenges, Limitations, and the Enduring Role of Human Interpreters in the Age of AI”
Presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed H. Alaqad of Universiti Malaya and President of the Asian Federation of Translators and Interpreters (AFTI), from Malaysia.

14.00–15.00 Hrs.
“Voices Across Languages: Why India Needs a National Interpreters Association”
Presented by Dr. Priti Bhatia, President of the Interpreters Association of India, from India.

This summit serves as an important international platform for the exchange of knowledge and professional insights in translation and interpreting, while also highlighting the evolving role of translators and interpreters in an era increasingly shaped by technology and artificial intelligence.

สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ได้ประกาศหลักเกณฑ์และคุณสมบัติของผู้ที่ขึ้นทะเบียนเป็น “นักแปลรับรอง (Certified Translators) และผู้รับรองการแปล (Translation Certification Providers) และล่ามรับรอง (Certified Interpreters)” ของสมาคม หมวดที่ 9 และหมวดที่ 10 ในราชกิจจานุเบกษา ของสำนักเลขาธิการคณะรัฐมนตรี ในสำนักนายกรัฐมนตรี แห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย ลงวันที่ 25 ก.ค. 2567 เล่มที่ 141 ตอนที่ 66 ง หน้า 100 อ่านฉบับเต็มได้ที่: นักแปลรับรอง ผู้รับรองการแปล และล่ามรับรอง
สำนักคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาเสนอให้ตราเป็นพระราชกฤษฎีกา โดยกำหนดให้นักแปลที่ขึ้นทะเบียน รวมถึงผู้รับรองการแปลจากสมาคมวิชาชีพหรือสถาบันสอนภาษาที่มีการอบรมและขึ้นทะเบียน สามารถรับรองคำแปลได้ (จดหมายถึงสมาคม SEAProTI ลงวันที่ 28 เม.ย. 2568)
